Abstract A probability measure-preserving action of a discrete amenable group G is said to be dominant if it isomorphic generic extension itself. Recently, was shown that for $G = \mathbb {Z}$ , an and only has positive entropy any implies dominance. In this paper, we show the converse also holds is, zero non-dominance.

Dual Entropy in Discrete Groups with Amenable Actions
Let G be a discrete group which admits an amenable action on a compact space and γ ∈ Aut(G) be an automorphism. We define a notion of entropy for γ and denote the invariant by ha(γ). This notion is dual to classical topological entropy in the sense that if G is abelian then ha(γ) = hTop(γ̂) where hTop(γ̂) denotes the topological entropy of the induced automorphism γ̂ of the (compact, abelian) dual...
متن کاملAmenable Actions of Nonamenable Groups
Since 1929 when von Neumann [vN29] introduced the notion of an invariant mean on a group (and more generally on a G-set) there is a permanent interest in the study of the phenomenon known as amenability. Amenable objects like groups, semigroups, algebras, graphs, metric spaces, operator algebras etc. play an important role in different areas of mathematics. A big progress in understanding of th...
متن کاملAre Unitarizable Groups Amenable?
We give a new formulation of some of our recent results on the following problem: if all uniformly bounded representations on a discrete group G are similar to unitary ones, is the group amenable? In §5, we give a new proof of Haagerup's theorem that, on non-commutative free groups, there are Herz-Schur multipliers that are not coefficients of uniformly bounded representations. We actually prov...
متن کاملOrbit Inequivalent Actions of Non-amenable Groups
This is a preliminary note containing the proof that every countable non-amenable group admits continuum many orbit inequivalent free, measure preserving, ergodic actions on a standard Borel space with probability measure. 1. Summary and Notation Let Γ1 y α1 (X1, μ1),Γ2 y α2 (X2, μ2) be Borel measure preserving actions. α1 and α2 are orbit equivalent if there exist conull subsets A1 ⊂ X1, A2 ⊂ ...
متن کاملEntropy and mixing for amenable group actions
For Γ a countable amenable group consider those actions of Γ as measurepreserving transformations of a standard probability space, written as {Tγ}γ∈Γ acting on (X,F , μ). We say {Tγ}γ∈Γ has completely positive entropy (or simply cpe for short) if for any finite and nontrivial partition P of X the entropy h(T, P ) is not zero. Our goal is to demonstrate what is well known for actions of Z and ev...
